Attention First Year Students:
As the registration materials have advised, Misty Franklin will register you for your Spring 2014 courses. Please be advised that this registration will take place beginning Thursday afternoon and will be completed by Friday morning because of the need to wait for all registration windows to open.
The Spring Advanced Legal Applications course if offered first to students graduating in May 2014 that are required to take the course. Registration will take place after the November 1st graduation application deadline to insure that all students intending to graduate have applied for graduation. Once all required students are registered for the course then any remaining seats will be registered for the course on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list for the Spring offering, please email Misty Franklin at misty@uakron.edu.
If you are planning to graduate in May 2014 make sure that you apply for graduation! The deadline to apply for graduation is, November 1, 2013. Log on to your MyAkron account and apply immediately so we can begin your clearance process! If you have any questions please contact Ivy Banks at ikw1@uakron.edu.
FREE Ohio Bar Admissions Workshop

PURPOSE: If you are a first or second year law student, you are considering or definitely planning to sit for the Ohio bar exam, and you have NOT yet submitted your required preliminary bar application (“Application to Register as a Candidate” form), then you should absolutely plan to attend this FREE workshop. This program is open to all law students.
Topics addressed will include:
¨ The Ohio bar application process
¨ Character and Fitness (issues, problems, investigations)
¨ The level of scrutiny given to the bar applications
¨ Appropriate and thorough responses to the bar application questions

WARNING: Waiting until the drop-dead dates to file an application places you at risk of not getting to take the bar exam right after graduation.

Hon. Judge Jack Zouhary is expected to talk about best practices in managing civil cases and several proposed changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure which would impact such proceedings and those involved in them.
