ASP Workshops: Briefing Case Law and Legal Synthesis

The Office of Academic Success will be offering two workshops next week: Briefing Case Law and Legal Synthesis. If you are would like a bit of guidance with figuring out what your professor is looking for in asking you to read and understand cases, these are the workshops for you!   These events will be held in Room 301 (3rd floor of the Library) on 9/11 (5pm-6pm) and 9/12 (1:10 pm-2:10pm).  Please join us for helpful tips on surviving your first semester in law school! There are materials associated with these workshops that you must complete in advance to receive the greatest benefit from the workshops.  As a result, you must RSVP in order to attend!   To RSVP, please email Ms. Palmer-Schmitz at dpalmer1@uakron.edu.

IPTLA Q&A with the IP Advisory Council – Sept 10 – 12:15pm

Q&A with the IP Advisory Council:

On Monday, September 10 at 12:15, in room 152, we have lunch with the IP Advisory Council.  The Council serves the law school by advancing the IP curriculum, as well as fostering relationships with businesses and law firms, assisting students with career planning issues, and matters related to program and resource development.  Students will have the opportunity discuss IP practice with attorneys from across the nation in a variety of practice areas.

IPTLA General Meeting – Sept 7 – 12:15pm

First General Meeting:

On Friday, September 7 at 12:15, in room W-214 is IPTLA’s first general meeting.  1L’s are especially invited to come and meet some of the upperclassmen who are studying IP and get to know more about our group. IPTLA is the law school’s Intellectual Property and Technology Law Association.  I.P. law includes, but is not limited to the practice of Trademark Law, Copyright Law, Patent Law, and Trade Secret Law.  Food will be served.
