Legal Research and Writing:  Perform legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations.  Draft newsletters, blogs, and legal updates.  Perform trademark searches.  Perform business name searches. Legal Correspondence:  Draft legal correspondence and documents, including, but not limited to, trademark applications, business formation documents, trademark search opinions and other correspondence as required. File Management:  Create, organize, and maintain paper and electronic files.  Monitor document production and retrieval. Contract Drafting and Administration:  Prepare contracts and agreements, including software and technology licenses, intellectual property agreements, commercial lease agreements, and operating agreements.

 Required Skills: Candidate should have the following: Strong computer and Internet searching skills.  Be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.  Ability to handle multiple tasks.  Strong grammar and writing skills.  Polished phone and interpersonal skills.  Experience with standard office equipment such as printers, copiers, and facsimiles. THE TASKS ASSIGNED TO THE LEGAL INTERN WILL BE UNDER THE INSTRUCTION AND SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED ATTORNEY.

Job Description – The law firm of Hunton & Williams invites qualified individuals to apply for a pro bono fellowship position in its Atlanta office. The position will involve performing intake interviews at and representing clients through the firm’s Southside Legal Center pro bono clinic, representing clients referred by the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, the Atlanta Legal Aid Society and similar organizations, and participating in the firm’s guardian ad litem project with the Fulton County Juvenile Court. It also may include community outreach and related tasks.

Qualifications – Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to a career in public interest law and either be admitted to the Georgia Bar or have taken the Georgia Bar exam by the time of employment. Interested students who will graduate in the spring or summer of 2013, as well as recent graduates (1-2 years), are encouraged to apply.

Salary – Competitive for entry level public interest attorneys.

Street Law Program Seeks Volunteers

To all students: The Akron Bar Association is looking for volunteers for the Street Law Program.  Street Law is an award-winning, law-related outreach program taught by Summit County high schools.  The Akron Bar Association Street Law Committee has partnered with area schools, the University of Akron School of Law, government offices, and various community organizations to establish Street Law as a high school elective course.  As a volunteer, you will serve as a resource to the teachers teaching Street Law.  You will be in contact with the teacher you are assigned to and may be asked general questions or to come and help teach a class.  Through this you will gain valuable networking experience by working closely with the attorneys who are assigned as resources as well.  If interested, please email streetlaw@akronbar.org
