This casual, “brown bag” lunch will take place Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 12:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Food will be served, Jimmy John’s. This event is intended to bring together students and practicing attorneys to allow law students to learn more about the profession. Topics will include different practice areas, what a typical day is like, effective networking techniques, and how to impress potential employers. The conversation during this event will be student driven–this is the time to ask those “off the record” questions!

IPTLA: Presentation on Economic Espionage and Theft of IP, Tuesday at 5:10, in W-206

This Tuesday evening, Bradley R. Beman, a Special Agent with the FBI, will discuss the Economic Espionage Act, which makes the theft or misappropriation of a trade secret a federal crime. The presentation will be at 5:10 in Room W-206. Billions of dollars are lost to foreign and domestic competitors who deliberately target industrial intelligence in flourishing U.S. industries and technologies and who cull intelligence by exploiting company trade secrets. The Economic Espionage Act was enacted to safeguard our nation’s economic secrets. Food will be served. All are welcome to attend.
