2011 Presidential Management Fellows Program – Apply Now
The office of Personnel Management announces the 2011 Presidential Management Fellows Program. The Office will hire more than 700 graduate students (including 3Ls and LLMs) for its 2 year program which places applicants in public policy and management positions with a variety of federal agencies and departments. Hiring criteria include breadth and quality of accomplishments, capacity for leadership, and commitment to excellence in leadership and management of public policies and programs. Apply online between October 1 and Friday, October 15, 2010 at www.USAJOBs.gov, by clicking “Apply Online” at bottom of vacancy announcement, creating account, and building online resume or link to an existing USAJOBS resume. Application consists of USAJOBS resume, online Qualifications Questionnaire, and supporting documents for veterans’ preference. When complete, print and complete Nomination Form (OPM Form 1300) and submit to Barbara Weinzierl, Director of Career Planning, by Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 12 noon.

IPTLA will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 12:15 pm in room W-214. The presenter will be Heather Barnes from Brouse McDowell. Heather will speak about intellectual property law generally and will discuss how she has managed to balance work and family life in her career. Heather’s practice includes the prosecution of patents, trademarks (domestically and internationally) and copyrights, as well as litigation research pertaining to all areas of intellectual property. Her background is in mechanical engineering. Heather is also a registered patent attorney. Come for a great opportunity to network and get to know other students that are interest in intellectual property law. Food will be provided.

U.S. Navy JAG Corps Info Session — All students invited
October 26, 2010: U.S. NAVY JAG Corps Informational Session (12:15 – 1:15 in Room 134) – A representative from the U.S. Navy JAG Corps will give an informational presentation to students interested in learning about careers as Navy JAGs. By way of background, U.S. Navy JAGs serve as attorneys and naval officers. They serve worldwide in a variety of practice areas, including criminal litigation, operational law, international law, administrative law and legal assistance.
