Environmental Litigation Group P.C. Asbestos Scholarship Fund

ELG has awarded over $2.5 million in its asbestos scholarship fund so far, and for 2024, we are offering three scholarships of $5000, $3000, and $2000.

The eligibility criteria for our 2024 scholarship program are the following:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old and U.S. citizens.
  • Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a U.S. accredited two-year or four-year university, community college or junior college, or a graduate degree program.
  • Applicants must have a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher
  • Applicants must be students who witnessed a parent, sibling, or other immediate family member battling cancer

All students who meet the above requirements must apply by mid-December 2024. The winners will be notified by the end of December 2024, and their essays will also be published on our scholarship program page: https://www.elglaw.com/scholarship/

The Freedom From Religion Foundation has just announced its 2025 essay competition for law school students. FFRF is offering over $9,000 in prizes for the top three essays submitted on the topic, and $500 honorable mentions at judges’ discretion.

TOPIC: Under the First Amendment, may states require religious organizations that receive government funding to comply with anti-discrimination laws?

DEADLINE: January 27, 2025

PRIZE INFORMATION: 1st Place $4,000, 2nd Place $3,000, and 3rd Place $2,000

WORD LIMIT: 1,500 words

ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to all ongoing law school students attending a North American law school. You remain eligible to enter this contest if you will graduate from law school by spring or summer of 2025. You remain eligible if you graduated law school in December 2024. You are not eligible to enter if you will be starting law school for the first time in the fall of 2025. You may not re-enter if FFRF has already awarded you for a law student essay.

The Gold Law Firm Challenge Yourself Scholarship

The Gold Law Firm Challenge Yourself Scholarship is officially open to applicants planning to attend college in the Spring of 2025. We are thrilled to offer a program that provides 5 college freshmen with the chance to win $1000 through our scholarship essay contest.

To apply for our firm’s first-ever Challenge Yourself Scholarship awards, students must be attending school as college freshmen in the spring semester of 2025. Additionally, we are looking for students who are always up for the challenge, and active in activities such as debate club and scouts. Please note that all materials must be submitted prior to 11:59 PM on December 4, 2024.
