Volunteers needed for The Immigration & Human Rights Law Clinic

The Immigration & Human Rights Law Clinic is seeking volunteers to assist with translating asylum applications and original documents into English for asylum seekers detained at the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center and the Geauga County Jail. Applicants for asylum must submit their applications in English and there is an extreme need for translation assistance. The greatest need is for volunteers fluent in Spanish and Haitian Creole. Additionally, there is a need for volunteers who are fluent in Punjabi, Bengali, and Somali. If you are interested in helping with this effort, please contact Professor Elizabeth Knowles (eknowles@uakron.edu). Thank you in advance for your compassion and your time!
