ASP 1L Simulated Exams

The Office of Academic Success is sponsoring a series of simulated exams for each of the substantive first-year classes.

This series is intended to give students the opportunity to practice answering exam questions under timed conditions. The simulated exam questions have been developed by our ASP Fellows in conjunction with the professors for your first-year classes. So this is a very good opportunity to get practice in answering the types of questions your particular professors will ask.

The simulated exam schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, November 27 Civil Procedure
Wednesday, November 28 Torts
Thursday, November 29 Contracts
Friday, November 30 Property.

For your convenience, the simulated exam questions will be posted on the TWEN page associated with ASP group study sessions.

Each simulated exam will be available at 5:00 pm on the day that it is scheduled for release, and the sample answer will release within 90 minutes of the question becoming available.

If your schedule allows it, we encourage you to take the exams at the scheduled time. If you can’t, the questions will remain available through the finals period so you can take them when it makes the most sense for you.

Regardless of when you take them, though, we encourage you to work through the exams under timed conditions in a space that resembles the actual testing environment as closely as possible.

We also encourage you to check your answers against the sample answers to assess your work..

Don’t Forget the ASP Simulated Exam Series!

The Office of Academic Success is hosting a series of simulated exams for each of the substantive first-year classes.

All simulated exams will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in room L 180.

The simulated exam questions will also be posted on the TWEN page associated with ASP group study sessions. So if you missed the first simulated exam on Monday, you can access the questions there.

Sample answers will also be posted on TWEN. Please use these to assess your work on the simulated questions.

Final ASP Group Study Sessions and Simulated Exams

The final ASP group Study sessions will be held in the week of April 17-21.

To help you in preparing for your upcoming exams, the ASP department is offering simulated exams in the 1st-year doctrinal courses.  The self-timed simulations give you practice writing answers to questions that are similar to what you will see on your professor’s exam under realistic time constraints.

Participating in these simulations will help you know what to expect on the exams so you can use the reading period to your best advantage.

The exam simulations will be offered in the following order:

  1. Monday,          04 / 24    Contracts
  2. Tuesday,          04 / 25    Civil Procedure
  3. Wednesday,    04 / 26    Property
  4. Thursday,        04 / 27    Criminal Law

The simulated questions will become accessible at 5:00 pm on the day the exam is scheduled for the particular topic.  Give yourself one hour to complete the exam simulation.

The simulated answers will become available at 6:00 pm on the day the corresponding question is released.

This is a self-graded simulation, so there is no need to submit anything. You will compare your own answer to the sample to sasses your performance.
