Location for the February and July 2017 Bar Exam

The Ohio Supreme Court has announced that both the February and the July 2017 bar examinations will be held at the Convention Center in Columbus.

If  you are graduating in December you’ll receive an email from me shortly with information about the Akron Law hotel room block for February.  (We have negotiated a discounted rate at a hotel attached to the Convention Center, in case you would like to stay hear the Akron Law support staff and other Akron Law alumni.)

If you have questions about preparing for the bar exam any time during your law school career, feel free to drop in and chat.

Want an Early Start on Studying for the February Bar Exam?

Get a head start studying for the February 2017 bar exam!

Feeling adequately prepared for the bar exam is more challenging these days.  The NCBE increased the multiple choice subject matter contenty by 17% when it added Civ Pro (and is tweaking the property content in February), the formal bar prep period hasn’t expanded, and you may not be able to put the rest of your life on hold while you study.  Shifting some of your preparation ahead of the traditional bar study period might be the solution!

Eary Start Study Group – First Meeting

Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 9:30 – 11:30 AM

Central Hower near my office (307)

Agenda:

  • Multistate Performance Test (MPT)

If you’re interested, but can’t make this week – or more generally you can’t meet at the time nearly everyone else can – let me know.  If there’s enough interest, I’ll run a second group.  If you aren’t on my list yet, I’ll trade you a copy of the MPT prompt and access to the supporting Springboard materials for your email address.  🙂

Ask a Bar Examiner!

You are invited to learn about the bar exam from someone who has recently written Ohio bar exam questions and scored examinee answers!

Former Ohio Bar Examiner, Nick Phillips, will share his insights today (October 26) from 5:15 – 6:15 in Central Hower Room 312.

You’re also welcome to stick around for the first 2/3 of the ALA class (6:30 – 8:30) for an Alumni Panel Discussion on the bar exam. Three recent graduates, and one family member, will share what it was like to take the bar exam (or support a loved one) and emerge on the other side!

(Open to anyone, but priority will be given to those who expect to take the bar exam in February.)
