TODAY: Runaway Bureaucracy: Do courts give the Patent Office too much deference?

No one knows when the next Thomas Edison or Garrett Morgan will appear. What is clear, however, is that — like Edison and Morgan — their inventions will need patent protection. Join the Federalist Society and IPTLA for a panel discussion featuring Prof. Saurabh Vishnubhakat (Texas A&M), Prof. Daniel Brean (Akron), and Prof. Camilla Hrdy (Akron), as they discuss whether courts have allowed the Patent Office to run amok.

This event is for anyone interested in intellectual property, the regulatory state and the economy, or delicious free burritos from a popular unnamed source. Basically, the event is for everyone so bring your friends!

International Law Society General Body Meeting TODAY

The International Law Society will have our first general body meeting of the semester, TODAY, Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 12:30 PM in Room 161. If you’re interested in International Law or Immigration and would like to become a member. At the meeting, we will be going over our calendar for the year and will talk about how you can be involved as a 1L representative of our organization! Hope to see you there! The Deadline for Your Application to take the Feb. 2018 Ohio Bar Exam is November 1, 2017

The deadline for your application to take the February 2018 Ohio bar examination is November 1, 2017.  The dates for the February 2018 bar examination are February 27, 28, and March 1, 2018.  Please see the Supreme Court of Ohio Bar Admissions website for information here.

If you are receiving your law degree after the fall 2017 semester (January 10, 2018 degree conferral), your Character Certificate is ready for you to pick up from the Law Student Affairs office.  Please see Mary Cooke (Room 103) or Liz Wascak (Room 104) to pick yours up – and remember to bring your PHOTO ID with you.
