Examsoft Reminders

We just wanted to remind everyone about a few things with Examsoft:

  1. Please download all exam files and the software as soon as possible.
  2. The calculator function is enabled in Examsoft.
  3. There are a default of 10 questions on every Examsoft exam file that you download.
  4. Do not leave the room after your exam until you receive the screen that has the green check mark congratulating you on a successful upload.
  5. Be sure to have your computer’s power plugged in.
  6. Show up to your exam at least 15 minutes early to allow us time to troubleshoot if necessary.
  7. Examsoft is compatible with OS Sierra.

Last Chance: Sign Up for the Client Counseling Competition!

This is one final reminder to sign up for the 2017 ABA Client Counseling Competition: today (December 2) is the last day to sign up! The competition will be on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Teams of two conduct an initial interview with a fictional client and address the client’s legal (and non-legal) needs. The teams must, among other things, build a relationship with the client, determine the client’s goals, and consider options available to the client.

This competition is open to all Akron Law students (including 1Ls). Find a partner and sign up today!

Winners of the local competition on January 14 will advance to the ABA Regional Competition in February. If you have questions or if you are looking for a partner, please contact Dean Fuller.

Late Application Deadline to take the Feb 2017 Ohio Bar Exam is Dec. 12

The deadline for a late application to take the February 2017 Ohio bar examination is December 12, 2016.  The dates for the February 2017 Ohio bar examination are February 21, 22, and 23, 2017.

Substance Abuse Lecture

Time: 5:20 – 6:20 pm    *Please note:  ARRIVE EARLY to sign in – there will be no admittance after 5:20 pm.

Location:  McDowell Law Center Room 160

The one-hour Substance Abuse Lecture is required if you plan to take the Ohio Bar at any time in the future.  You may attend this lecture during any semester you are in law school, and we will verify your attendance with the Supreme Court of Ohio when you graduate from law school.   Your attendance is verified by your signing the attendance sheet as you enter the lecture.

You will definitely want to make this lecture, particularly if you are planning to graduate in Fall 2016 or Spring 2017 and you have not yet attended one.
