Want to know how to take a legal multiple choice exam?

Do any of your exams include multiple choice questions?  Would you like to avoid the stress normally caused by such questions?  Join ASP and Kaplan Bar Review for a special presentation on how to take these challenging exams.  This workshop will be held 11/13 from 5-6pm in Room 165.   This is an RSVP only event, first come/first reserved, because of space limitations.  Please RSVP to dpalmer1@uakron.edu.  The RSVP will be strictly enforced.

Fingerprinting NOT available at UA Police Dept

We have recieved reports that many students needing to be fingerprinted for their Bar application are inquiring at the University of Akron Police Department (UAPD).  UAPD is not able to provide this service.

We have also been advised that the Akron Police Department is not able to provide this service.  You are most welcome to contact other municipal police departments to see if they are able to assist you, but we do not know which municipalities those may be.  Therefore, we direct students as follows:

Fingerprinting is available at the Sheriff’s Office at the Summit County Jail

located on Crosier Street just across the 76 expressway.

 Details:

  • Appointments are required:  call the Sheriff’s Office at 330-643-5323 to schedule
  • Appointment times are:
    •  Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 am.
    •  Thursdays, 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Closed holidays
  • Complete all fingerprint card information prior to arrival
  • Fingerprinting fee is $10.00

NOTE:  When you submit your Certificate of Dean form to Law Student Services for the dean’s signature, we will return it to you in a packet which contains your official fingerprint card.

Advanced Legal Applications Announcement

Good morning, everyone!

If you are required to take Advanced Legal Applications (“ALA”) and intend to graduate in Spring 2013, please notify me immediately if you have not applied to graduate in spring.  If you are required to take ALA and intend to graduate in Fall 2013, you will NOT register for the spring course.  We will be offering you an ALA in Fall 2013 that is closer in time to your graduation date (and therefore more useful to you).  To notify me that you intend to graduate Spring 2013 but have not yet applied and believe that you are required to take ALA, please email me at dpalmer1@uakron.edu.  To determine whether you are required to take ALA, please see page 130 of the 2012-13 Student Handbook.
