18th Annual Law Student Closing Argument Competition

It’s that time of year again, and we are excited to announce the 18th Annual Law Student Closing Argument Competition. Attached please find a flier we would like you to immediately distribute to your 2nd and 3rd year law students who are interested in competing in a competition scheduled to take place Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse. The event is sponsored by the Landskroner Foundation for Children, a child advocacy organization, which attempts to advance and protect the rights of children, further children’s issues and promote the good and well fare of children in need or at risk. We are offering law students from your institution the opportunity to take part in our competition. There are monetary scholarships for the top three place finishers, $750, $500, and $200 respectively. We appreciate your cooperation in extending this invitation to your students and providing them with this flier and/or e-mail notice of our competition. Internship with Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office for Spring – deadline is Saturday at 5PM!

Cleveland, OH – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office – Class years considered: 2D, 2E, 3D, 3E (for Spring only). Prefer Top Rank, excellent GPA and either Moot Court or Mock Trial experience. This would be for spring semester only. Must not be graduating in December.

Community Service of Limited Means Volunteer Opportunity

The Summit County Juvenile Court Family Resource Center is looking for volunteer tutors to provide homework help in a one on one and small group setting. Tutoring sessions will occur on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00pm at the Summit County Juvenile Court. Tutoring is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
