Please join members of the Akron Law Alumni Association for an informal lunch discussion. ”Law Alumni and Lunch” will bring together students and practicing attorneys to allow students to learn more about the profession. The conversation during this event will be student driven – this is the time to ask those “off the record” questions. Lunch will be served. Our ABA Trial Team, which consists of Kelle Redepenning, Anthony Wise, Kelsie Carson, and Joshua Rau and is coached by Brian Dodez (’09) competed in Boston this past weekend. Due to the inclement weather, their return flight was cancelled, so they rented a car, drove through the night, and arrived back in Cleveland today at 5 am. Despite the travel concerns, the team went undefeated and has advanced to the National Championship in the American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law’s Ninth Annual Law Student Trial Advocacy Competition. This was the first time Akron participated in this tournament. Three of the advocates are 2Ls who have never been in a competition, and the other is a 3L who has tried one case in competition prior to this.
Please congratulate these students for an outstanding performance when you see them in the building this week.
The final day of the Phi Alpha Delta Dress Your Professor Fundraiser is here! Come to the student lounge for one last chance to get your favorite professor in costume for Halloween. Donations will cease at 5pm and the lucky winner will be announced shortly after!

2 – Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 12:20 and 5:15 in Room 151: Career Planning First Year Mandatory Orientation Session. Meet in a large group with the Career Planning Staff to discuss the basics of resumes, cover letters, options for summer 2013 jobs, and everything career-related you need to know. Following your attendance at one of these sessions, you will be permitted to schedule an individual career planning consultation with the CPPO staff. Mark your calendar now!
