Law students encouraged to attend Etiquette Lunch – register today!

All law students are invited and encouraged to attend an Etiquette Lunch (Wine, Dine and How to Act Fine), sponsored by the Career Center. Learn and polish your etiquette and professional skills before you begin your job interviews.

When: Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 12 noon – 1:30 p.m.

Where: Student Union Room 335

Advance registration is required – deadline to register extended to Thursday, September 27 at 5 p.m. Register by calling the Career Center at 330-972-7747. Cost to attend is only $5.00.

CPPO calendar of events – week of September 24

Thursday, September 27 at 12:20 in Room 133 – Representatives of Skylight Financial will be here to talk to law students about how to become “money smart” and how to start planning now for your future financial needs. This will be a very basic, beginner introduction to financial planning so no matter where you are on your financial journey, you will learn something. Food will be served. Pro Bono Limited Means Opportunity – this Friday, September 28th!

Legal Aid is looking for local law students who can volunteer on FRIDAY, September 28 from 10:15am – 1:45pm (3.5 hours).

 

Volunteers would serve as ushers at Legal Aid’s annual luncheon, held at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cleveland (24 Public Square).  United States Attorney General Eric Holder will be the keynote speaker at the event.  In addition to this special speaker, Legal Aid is premiering a new video and will be honoring five of its retiring board members.  More than 900 attorneys from Northeast Ohio will attend the event.

 

Ushers would get a voucher for free parking and a free meal.  The job includes registration desk duties and escorting people to their seats.  BUT, you must commit to the entire 3.5 hour assignment.  Dress is business attire.

Moot Court Honor Society Tryouts – Sat., Oct. 6

Moot Court Honor Society will be having tryouts Saturday October 6 for people interested in joining and wanting to compete in an external competition. Participants will only be required to give a 7 minute oral argument based on a closed-research problem. Current MCHS members wanting to compete on external teams are encouraged to tryout again.
