Federal Bar Association Brown Bag Lunch Series with Chief Judge Batchelder — RSVP today!

ALL students invited and encouraged to attend the Federal Bar Association Brown Bag Lunch Series* with Chief Judge Alice Batchelder.  A wonderful opportunity for you to have an informal conversation with the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder (Akron Law, Class of 1971), Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  Thursday, October 4 from 12:30 – 1:30 in Room 151. *Lunch will be servied to those who attend!

Deadline today to report all Pro Bono/Community Service Hours completed this summer!

Reminder that all pro bono and community service hours completed during the Summer must be reported by turning in your Certification of Supervisor forms by today, Friday, September 28th.

Moot Court Honor Society Tryouts Oct. 6

Moot Court Honor Society will be having tryouts October 6th for people interested in joining. Participants will only be required to give a 7 minute oral argument based on a closed-research problem. The tryout problem will be emailed today September 28. Anyone who wants to be included in tryouts should email Alex Armitage. Current MCHS members wanting to compete on external teams and did not compete last year are encouraged to tryout again. Questions can be directed to Alex Armitage at asa47@zips.uakron.edu.

The Counseling Center is offering the following workshops in Simmons Hall 306 during the week of Oct. 1:

  1. OIF/OEF Veterans – Monday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m.
  2. Reduce Test Anxiety – Monday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m.
  3. Improve Your Grades without Studying More – Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 5 p.m.
  4. Emotional Support Group – Friday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. (Please call ahead at ext. 7082.)
