Street Law Seeks Student Volunteers

The Akron Bar Association’s Street Law Committee is seeking a few law students to volunteer at local high schools.  Street Law is a practical elective course taught throughout many high schools in Summit County.

The time commitment will be a couple of hours a month with at least a one-semester commitment.  The volunteer hours may be applied to the pro bono requirement for each student.  Although the time commitment is minimal, it is a valuable opportunity to get involved with the local community.

Please email streetlaw@akronbar.org if you are interested in volunteering or have any questions.

Need Community Service Hours?

The Dean’s Office is looking for volunteers to assist with the Law School Commencement program on Sunday, May 19th. It’s a great opportunity to observe the graduation of your colleagues and to prepare for your own Commencement program.

You will be able to claim community service hours as well.

We are looking for student ushers to serve as hosts/hostesses, greeting people at the door, assisting with handicapped guests and judicial guests, and handing out programs.

If you’re interested in assisting or would like more information, please email Aneesh at akj6@zips.uakron.edu. Thank you.
