Student Trustee Application
The 117th Session of the Ohio General Assembly created two non-voting student member positions to the Board of Trustees. The objective is to “allow for more student input on the governing bodies of the university.”
- Student trustees will be expected to attend Board of Trustee meetings and actively participate in Board matters.
- Student trustees shall serve on a volunteer basis. No compensation for services shall be rendered, but trustees may be reimbursed for reasonable and necessary expenses incurred while engaging in the discharge of their official duties.
- The term of office for student trustee members shall be for (2) years; each term ending on the same day of the same month of the year, as the term it succeeds.
Applicants are required to submit a letter of intent stating the applicant’s reasons for seeking the position, a resume, and a completed the Boards and Commissions Application.
A letter of recommendation is welcome, but not necessary. To submit a letter of recommendation, have the recommender email it to usgpresident@uakron.edu, gsgpresident@uakron.edu, and sp206@uakron.edu.
