Ohio Student Government Summit (OSGS)

What to Expect

Ohio Student Government Summit (OSGS) aims to bring student governments together from across the state of Ohio, and several of the bordering states! It provides plenty of opportunities for our governments to not only learn and grow from one another, but also network and share ideas with campuses similar to them.

OSGS 2024 will be held at The University of Akron Jean Hower Taber Student Union on Saturday January 20th and Sunday January 21st, 2024! We are excited to be introducing a two-day conference this year and expand opportunities for collaboration and exchange! Please see the schedule at the bottom of this page for further details.

In the past, OSGS has had a couple of different ways to connect with different student governments. Whether that be a Presidential Panel, breakout sessions, keynotes, lunch networking sessions, or more. This conference has connected with student governments in a plethora of different ways, and we are excited to provide a variety of activities for OSGS 2024!

The attire for the summit is business casual.

OSGS 2024 Theme

The theme for OSGS 2024 is “From Blueprints to Brilliance.” With this theme, we will focus heavily on the building attributes that allow our student governments to excel. We bring three of these attributes to the forefront of our summit:

Building Bridges: An emphasis on forming connections between student organizations, faculty and administration, as well as the general student population. How do we continue to build these relationships from the ground up and support their growth through collaboration and engagement?

Building Foundations: A focus on setting up our student governments for success and ensuring that our organizational structure and members are well-established for this year and the future. How do we set the groundwork to ensure that our organizations and members are built for their role on campus for years to come?
